Repurposed by Paisley Noelle: Asymmetric Dress

On a quest to update my personal style, I came across a new hobby that allows me to do so creatively and in an environmentally friendly way; redesigning and transforming thrifted clothing!!

Recently at a local thrift store, a sparkly little number caught my eye in the dress section. I pulled out the garment and it looked like something a grandma would wear to a wedding - nothing wrong with that but I'm not a grandma and I'm not attending any weddings as of now. It was in great shape though and I just knew I could make something amazing out of it! The silver sheath dress came with a matching cardigan, which gave me a lot of fabric to work with. I immediately knew I wanted to create a unique cocktail dress that would be sure to make a statement. I'm honestly surprised and SO excited with how it turned out!

For the last few years, I've been trying to make a conscious effort to reduce my carbon footprint. It can be hard in the fashion world, with trends and personal style continuously changing, to not get caught up in consumption. Making my own recycled clothing has been such a fun and exciting way to express myself and love the earth!

Enjoy these photos and a Youtube video made by my favorite photographer ever, Cj! Also, would you wear this dress?? Let me know in the comments below!
