Linen Set x Paisley Noelle

This is the first of many posts to come from my recent trip to Europe. I thought about going in order and starting with our first stop in Paris, but I was too excited about this outfit post! Just before leaving to Europe, I designed and made this all white linen set to bring on my trip. I was inspired by a Faithful the Label linen set, however it was $300 and I couldn't reason spending that much on one outfit before a month in Europe. So instead, I visited a Jo-Ans Fabric store, got a few yards of white linen for $30, and went to work!

I have never made clothing before and this was my first time using a sewing machine. I didn't have a pattern so I looked up How to Draft a Basic Pant Pattern and used my own measurements to create a pant pattern on draft paper. I then traced the pattern out on the fabric, cut it out and sewed the edges together. The pants were a bit big in some places so I pinned them while they were on and re-sewed until I felt they fit right. Lastly, I inserted an invisible zipper on the left side. As for the top, I completely eye balled it. I cut out two squares and sewed an elastic band to the top of each. I then sewed the sides together and left the ends unfinished for a bohemian feel. This whole process took maybe 5 hours.

I am so impressed with how this set turned out and inspired to continue making my own clothes! The set was perfect worn around the resort we stayed in in Ischia, a small Italian island off of Naples. Here are some photos from our stay at Giardino Eden
